NORMAS DE PUBLICACIÓN
I INSTRUCTIVO GENERAL (ARTÍCULOS)
1. Remitir el artículo al editor de la Revista en medio magnético y dos copias impresas. Deben estar a doble espacio, en papel tamaño carta (21.5 X 27.5 cm.), letra Times New Roman, tamaño 12.
2. Por tratarse de una publicación con arbitraje, el comité Editorial designará evaluadores para el artículo y decidirá, con fundamento en el concepto de los evaluadores y en los criterios de rigor científico, sobre su publicación. El comité tiene la facultad para: aceptar el artículo, solicitar modificaciones o rechazarlo para su publicación.
3. El Comité editorial otorga prelación a la publicación de artículos que consistan en: (1) informes de investigación con un fuerte referente teórico; (2) productos de reflexiones teóricas; (3) artículos que constituyan revisiones críticas sobre el estado de la cuestion en el tema estudiado, todo esto enmarcado dentro de un rigor conceptual y metodológico, su contenido debe realizar un aporte significativo a la discusión jurídica.
4. Los artículos de los tipos 1,2 y 3 expuestos en el numeral anterior no podrán exceder en su extensión las treinta y cinco (35) páginas. El comité editorial podrá aceptar otro tipo de artículos como notas, comunicaciones, ponencias, resúmenes de contribuciones, reseñas bibliográficas, etc. y estas no deben superar las quince (15) páginas.
5. Por ser una publicación Internacional se aceptan artículos en otros idiomas.
6. Los artículos deben incluir un resumen en el idioma original, en inglés y en español, con una extensión máxima de 200 palabras. También debe contener entre 4 y 6 palabras clave que describan su contenido en los idiomas mencionados, una introducción, un desarrollo y unas conclusiones.
7. Las referencias de las citas se consignarán a pie de página y su enumeración será continua (no debe ser por capítulos).
8. Las citas deben presentarse de la manera siguiente:
- Apellidos y nombres del autor y sus iniciales en mayúscula.
- Titulo de la obra.
- Volumen o tomo.
- Lugar
- Editorial
- Fecha de publicación.
- Número de la primera y última página del trabajo consultado.
- Si se trata de un artículo de una publicación periódica, el titulo irá entre comillas y el título de la revista o periódico en cursiva.
9. En la parte final del artículo se deben referenciar las obras consultadas en orden alfabético, según el primer apellido del autor, teniendo en cuenta los datos para la presentación de citas bibliográficas.
10. Al pie de página, de la primera hoja (con asterisco al autor), se debe transcribir los grados académicos y nombre de las universidades donde se cursaron.
11. Debajo del nombre del autor se debe anotar la institución a la cual pertence actualmente y con nota de pie de página la dirección de ubicación, ciudad y pais.
12. A la entrega del artículo se debe diligenciar un formato con los siguientes datos:
Título del artículo
- Autor (es)
- Institución a la cual pertenece
- Grados académicos
- Publicaciones en otras revistas nacionales o internacionales
- Dirección completa
- Número telefónico,
- Fax y dirección electrónica.
13. Se recomienda a los autores consultar y referenciar en sus artículos las revistas de la facultad de Ciencias Jurídicas de la Universidad Javeriana de Bogotá: Vniversitas e International Law: Revista colombiana de Derecho Internacional en los siguientes links:

14. La revista se publica en los meses de mayo y noviembre. Se dara contestación por escrito sobre la evaluación del artículo, y en caso de ser aceptado se informará en cual número se publicará.
15. Para la revista International Law, el envío de un artículo indica que el(los) autor(es) certifica(n) y acepta(n): (1) que éste no ha sido publicado, ni aceptado para publicación en otra revista; (2) que no se ha reportado la publicación de una versión previa como working paper (o 'literatura gris') o en un sitio web, y que en caso de ser aceptada su publicación lo retirarán de los sitios web y que allí solo dejarán el título, el resumen, las palabras clave y el hipervínculo a la Revista.
16. Al enviar los artículos para su evaluación, el(los) autor(es) acepta(n) igualmente que transferirá(n) los derechos de autor a la revista International Law, para su publicación en versión impresa o electrónica.
II DESARROLLOS RECIENTES
1. Esta sección tiene como objeto presentar al lector análisis de jurisprudencia, estudios y desarrollos legales recientes tanto de organismos internacionales como de instituciones estatales, seleccionados por su trascendencia e importancia para el derecho internacional.
2. El análisis debe tener una extensión no mayor a 2000 palabras. El autor deberá contribuir a un acercamiento crítico del texto analizado. Ello implica la ilustración de su punto de vista y la presencia de notas bibliográficas al pie de página que sirvan de comentario, tal como se exige en cualquier ansayo acádemico.
3. El análisis debe identificar la institución que profirío el documento, la fecha; el medio en que fue publicado, señalando el volumen y fecha de publicación y otros datos que permitan a los lectores consultarlo.
4. En esta sección también es posible publicar breves resúmenes de desarrollos jurisprudenciales legales en materia de derecho internacional con una extensión máxima de 500 palabras, que puedan ser relevantes para futuras discusiones.
III. SECCION BIBLIOGRÁFICA
1. El texto objeto de reseña debe caracterizarse por su novedad, cientificidad, importancia, crítica y aporte al derecho. Estos elementos, sin ser excluyentes de otros, deben ser tenidos en cuenta por el autor para realizar la reseña en esta publicación.
2. Las reseñas de textos se realizarán bajo la modalidad de ensayo-reseña con el fin de realizar un aporte a los lectores que quieran acercarse a un determinado texto. Ello implica la presencia de notas bibliográficas al pie de página que sirvan de comentario crítico a la reseña, tal como se exige en cualquier ensayo académico.
3. El ensayo-reseña se referirá al libro escogido y será un texto de una extensión aproximada de 2.000 palabras. El autor de la reseña deberá presentar no solamente una mención de los capítulos de los que se compone el texto, sino tambien deberá aportar a los lectores un marco referencial para abordarlo.
4. El ensayo-reseña debe mostrar las líneas de fuerza o hipótesis centrales del texto reseñado con el fin de poder hacer la recomendación que se considere pertinente al lector.
IV AGENDA INTERNACIONAL
1. La sección Agenda Internacional pretende ser un segmento de análisis de los grandes eventos, a nivel de foros mundiales, reuniones internacionales y conferencias ministeriales, entre otros; donde se estudien los impactos, posiciones, expectativas y resultados de tales convocatorias, en el ámbito del comercio internacional, inversión, derechos humanos y medio ambiente.
2. Las colaboraciones sobre eventos y acontecimientos de la sección de agenda internacional se realizarán bajo la modalidad de ensayo-descriptivo con el fin de enterar en forma breve y sucinta un acontecimiento de relevancia en las distintas materias del ámbito de la revista.
3. La colaboración de carácter descriptivo será un texto no mayor de 2.000 palabras.
4. Es importante que el ensayo-descriptivo establezca las discusiones que dominaron los distintos acontecimientos y no se limite a una simple mención de expositores y conferencias. La colaboración debrá proveer criterios de reflexión y pensamiento que fomenten el estudio a profundidad de temas específicos.

PUBLICATION GUIDELINES
I GENERAL GUIDELINES (ARTICLES)
1. A hard copy and a disc copy shall be sent to the Journal's publisher. The printed copy shall be double spaced, in A4 paper and font type 12.
2. As it is a journal subjected to the revision of third parties, the Editors will appoint a commentaries editor who shall decide upon its merits for publication and its scientific quality. The committee has the faculty of accepting the article, requesting modifications or rejecting it for publication.
3. Editors shall favor for publication research articles (1); review articles (2) or reflection articles (3). They shall not have been published before and in case of their being accepted, they cannot be published in other journals and its contents shall make a significant contribution to the juridical discussion.
4. Articles of types 1, 2, and 3 presented in the preceding number cannot exceed 40 pages and shall contain a minimum of 15 pages. Editors might accept other types of articles as notes, communications, lectures, contribution summaries, reviews, etc. and they shall not exceed 20 pages.
5. As it is an international law review, articles might be submitted in idioms different than Spanish.
6. Articles shall contain an abstract in its original language and in English with a minimum extension of 25 and a minimum of 20 lines. It shall contain also between 4 and 6 key words describing its contents in two languages, a summary or outline and an introduction.
7. Citing references shall be footnoted and its listing shall be continuous (it cannot be in the way of chapters)
8. Footnotes shall be presented as follows
. Author's last name and initials in capital letters.
- Title.
- Volume.
- Location.
- Publishing house.
- Year of publication.
- Number of the first and last page consulted.
- If article consulted is a periodical publication, title shall be written with quotes and the name of the paper or magazine in italics.
9. In the final part of the article, consulted bibliography shall be indicated alphabetically, in accordance with the author's last name, taking into account footnotes presentation guidelines.
10. In the bottom of the first page with an asterisk, the institution the author belongs to and his/her academic degrees shall be indicated.
11. Below the name of the author of the manuscript, the institution the author currently belongs to shall be indicated and a footnote indicating address, city and country shall be also included.
12. When delivering the article a form shall be filled out with the following information:
- Title of the manuscript.
- Authors
- Institution he/she belongs to.
- Academic degrees.
- Complete address.
- Phone number.
- Fax and e-mail.
13. Authors are encouraged to consult and make references to the Pontificia Universidad Javeriana Law Faculty law journals (“Vniversitas” and “International Law Revista Colombiana de Derecho Internacional”) in the following links:

14. The journal is published in the months of May and November. A written response as to the evaluation of the manuscript will be informed and in case that the manuscript is accepted the issue in which it will be published will be informed.
15. The “International Law Revista Colombiana de Derecho Internacional” assumes that the submission of a manuscript indicates that the author or authors certify and accept that (i) such has neither been published nor accepted for publication in any other journal; (2) that no previous publication as working paper (or “gray literature”) has been reported, even as web site publication, and that in case that the publication is accepted, authors will withdraw manuscripts from the web sites and they will leave there only the title, the abstract, the key words and the journal web site reference.
16. Upon sending manuscripts for the review of third parties, author or authors accept as well that they will transfer all copyrights to the journal for the publication of the manuscript in a printed or electronic version.
II. RECENT DEVELOPMENTS
1. This section has the purpose of presenting the reader with an
analysis of jurisprudence, studies and recent legal developments
both from international organisms and from state institutions,
selected by its transcendence and importance for International
Law.
2. Analysis shall not be more than 2,000 words in length. Authors
shall give a critical approach to the text they have analysed. That
entails their knowing in-depth their points of view and the
introduction of bibliographical footnotes that serve as comments,
as required in any academic essay.
3. Analysis shall identify the institution that issued the document,
date, the organ it was published in, indicating the volume and
date of publication and other information permitting authors to
consult it.
4. In this section it is possible too to publish several summaries of
jurisprudential and legal developments of International Law,
with a maximum 500 word extension that may be relevant for
future discussions.
III BIBLIOGRAPHICAL SECTION
1. The book to be reviewed must be characterized by its novelty, scientific approach, importance, critique, and its contribution to law. These elements, without excluding others, must be kept in mind by the author in order to publish her or his reviews in this journal.
2. Text references shall be made under the essay-review mode in
order to make a contribution to the readers wanting to get closer
to a determined text. That entails the presence of a footnote
bibliographical reference that serves as a critic comment to the
review, as required in any academic essay.
2. The essay-review shall refer to the chosen book and it shall be an
approximate 2000 word text. The author of the review shall
present not only a mention of chapters the text is composed of but
he/she shall also give the readers a general reading frame reference.
3. The essay-review shall show the text strength lines or main
hypothesis of the text under review in order to be able to make to
the reader the recommendation that is deemed as pertinent.
IV INTERNATIONAL AGENDA
1. The International Agenda section seeks to be an analysis segment
of major events, at the level of global forums, international
meetings and ministerial conferences, among others, where the
impacts, positions, expectations and results of those summons
are studied in the ambit of foreign trade, investment, human rights
and environmental protection.
2. International agenda section contributions referred to events and
developments shall be made under the mode of descriptive essay,
in order to inform in a brief fashion about relevant developments
in the different matters of the journal ambit.
3. Contributions shall not be greater than 2,000 words in length.
4. It is important for descriptive essays to establish discussions that
dominated the different events and to not be limited to a simple
mention of lecturers and conferences. Contribution shall provide reflection and thinking criteria fostering the in-depth study of specific issues.
