This program offers a solid disciplinary formation for the analysis, reflection and intervention in the social and cultural processes and phenomena of contemporary world. The proposal follows the stance of generating skills of high standards in our students. In this sense the Study Plan contemplates the theoretical components of the discipline starting with the classical approaches and continuing with the contemporary ones. It involves a methodological formation that provides the tools for research and the application of the anthropological knowledge.

In addition to its strong interdisciplinary component and professionalism the program offers two emphasis or concentrations: Cultural Analysis and Anthropology and Health. Also, it includes disciplinary options in other academic programs of the Universidad Javeriana in complementary areas that the student may choose according to his or her interests.

The Undergraduate Program in Anthropology offers an education oriented toward the generation of professional, disciplinary and resolute competencies through the adequate balance of all the aspects of the discipline. Finally, it injects social responsibility upon its students as they face the realities of our nation today by promoting autonomy in the individual through a study plan that offers electives, emphasis and complementary options that the student can take according to their own fields of interest.
