Reasons for studying our Program

Due to general economy’s internationalization and globalization and particularly of accounting, the Pontificia Javeriana University has assumed a leadership role in the analysis of these issues and of their consequences for the professional practice and academic activity.

The Accounting Sciences Department has lead an analysis process related to the endorsement of the International Financial Reporting Standards (IFRS), process that has had many opponents, but of which its high academic quality is recognized, as well as its sense of realistic understanding of economic and accounting phenomena at the present time.

The Pontificia Javeriana University has been part of the team that has developed the study that the Colombian government is assesing about the endorsement of the International Financial Reporting Standards (IFRS) in our country.

- ALVARO TRUJILLO.
Certified Public Accountant (Pontificia Javeriana University). Lawyer (Nueva Granada Militar University). Conciliator at the Rodrigo Lara Bonilla Judicial School and the Nueva Granada Militar University (1995 y 2003). Specialist in Commercial Law (Andes University), in the stage of thesis statement review in order to acquire the degree in State Top Management in the Governance School at the Superior School of Public Administration. Broad experience in the Public Securities Market regulation in Colombia, including the development of compared studies with international standards and the preparation of legal statements.
- GABRIEL RUEDA DELGADO.
Certified Public Accountant (National University). Specialist in Public Management. Research Professor. Broad academic, research, and operational research on International Financial Reporting Standards, Internal Control, Process Design, Economic Management Control, Fiscal Control, Assessment Indicators for enterprise performance, planning and management of human resources, and internal control system assessment. Experience as a teacher in research areas and accounting theory, accounting harmonization, conferences and workshops on IFRS adoption, internal control, and integral auditing for modernizing fiscal control.
Costs and Registrations
General Information
The Graduate Programs are directed to Public Accountants and professionals with undergraduate degrees in related fields (especially Business Administration, Economy, and Industrial Engineering).
Admission Requirements
Admission form, obtained by the Admissions and Registry Office, including the following documents:
- Professional Degree Diploma and Graduation Act photocopies.
- Original undergraduate grade certification, with a grade average not inferior than three point five (3.5) in the Colombian Grade Scale.
- Two pictures. Size 3 cm X 4 cm.
- ID photocopy (enlarged to half letter size sheet).
- Work certification in which the job title, time, and responsibilities must be included.
- Admission form (adequately filled).
- To have English language comprehension (minimum required proficiency level: 70%)
Semester cost: $4,100,000 Colombian Pesos
Financing options

Duration:
One year distributed in two academic semesters, 272 on - campus hours each (approximately 20 weeks per semester).
Selection Process:
The candidate selection criteria are based on the academic performance during the undergraduate studies, on the personal, professional, and work experience, and the personal interview which will corroborate the candidate’s expectations with the profile that the program offers.
Class Schedule
Wednesdays (6:00 p.m. - 10:00 p.m), Fridays (6:00 p.m - 10:00 p.m), and Saturdays (8:00 a.m. - 2:00 p.m).
