Types of manuscripts
magis receives unpublished manuscripts in Spanish, Portuguese, English and French. During the review process and the publication, manuscripts retain their original language. The types of publishable manuscripts are organized in three categories:
Part 1: Articles, which may be:
1. Discussion papers: meta-research documents that involve theoretical developments, critical interpretations, conceptualizations related to epistemological aspects or methodological constructs, based on research completed by the authors.
2. Scientific and technological research papers: documents that present, in detail, the original results of completed research projects. Generally, the structure should contain six basic sections: introduction, conceptual framework, methodology, results, discussion of results and conclusions.
3. Review articles: papers that present either a state of the art or a comprehensive review, making available the developments and trends of a specific field, a topic or a particular problem. These documents should include a complete review of literature, and a significant number of references to relevant research and theoretical works.
Part 2: Essays (not to be indexed)
In this part of the issue essays not directly related to research are published. These texts will be read and assessed by the editorial board and must comply with criteria 3 to 5 of these guidelines.
Part 3: Context: special contributions and information (not to be indexed)
Texts such as interviews, speeches, lectures, translations, book reviews, inaugural lectures, among others. These manuscripts will be read and assessed by the editorial board and must comply with criteria 3 to 5 of these guidelines. |
