Summary
Educational theory has the obligation to remain open to interpretational theories and other practical theories. Research should also favor its development as a scientific construct and as an academic discipline, as research in education. The study justifies the plurality of theoretical research in education, and treats the epistemological problems that emerge from an axiological sense in education: to teach and to help the student learn, value, choose, and realize principles.

Educational information is specialized information that allows us to explain, interpret, and decide on educational interventions. This knowledge must: a) define what we need to know in order to understand and control the realm of education; b) determine how to understand that field.
This article determines the manners in which to understand theoretical research in the field of education. It outlines the conditions of disciplinary research and defines the challenges in educational research as an axiological issue from the “education-theory-practice” perspective.
