The Latin American meeting of Social Communication faculties is the main academic event of the Federación Latinoamericana de Facultades de Comunicación Social ?FELAFACS?, (Federation of Latin American Social Communication Faculties) which is held every three years in a different Latin American country. For the year 2006, the official site for the Xll meeting of FELAFACS will be the Pontificia Universidad Javeriana, Colombia . The main subject of the meeting will be the relations between communication and uncertainty , in a time characterized not only for the loss of confidence in modern utopias that pretend to domesticate human fears of nature, insure the main role acquired now a days by subjectivity, the body and technology as sources of new possibilities and also of new insecurities. In this context, we should rethink the notions of what we are and what we desire to be and the ways in which communication has become a strategic place for politics, subjectivity and insecurity.

With this reflection effort about communication and uncertainty, and formulation of new paths of discussions, formation and investigation, we offer a well deserved recognition to the 25 years of the foundation of FELAFACS and to the 70 years of academic activities of the Pontificia Universidad Javeriana's Communication and Language Faculty.
