Action against drugs and crime supports Mali’s peace and development efforts: UNODC Chief Yury Fedotov — UNODC's Yury Fedotov has said that his joint mission to Mali, alongside the head of the Department of Peacekeeping Operations (DPKO), Hervé Ladsous, sends a clear message that countering drugs, crime, corruption and terrorism is essential to building peace and development in the country and region. In comments made at the end of their joint mission, Mr. Fedotov praised the efforts of the Malian Government and the excellent cooperation between UNODC and DPKO in Mali and West Africa.

По данным УНП ООН за 2013 год, в Боливии третий год подряд наблюдается снижение выращивания коки — Согласно национальному мониторинговому исследованию за 2013 год, проведенному УНП ООН и правительством Боливии, выращивание кокаиновых кустарников в Боливии сократилось на примерно 9%, а посевная площадь уменьшилась с 25300 га до 23 тыс.

УНП ООН побуждает молодежь бороться с торговлей людьми — На конкурсе молодых маркетологов, который прошел в рамках Международного фестиваля креативности «Каннские львы», Управление ООН по наркотикам и преступности  дало задание молодым людям разработать рекламную кампанию для борьбы с торговлей людьми. 14 команд получили задание разработать за 24 часа PR-стратегию для повышения внимания к кампании ООН против торговли людьми «Голубое сердце». Конкурс проводился в преддверии Всемирного дня борьбы с торговлей людьми, который будет отмечаться 30 июля 2014 года.
    13. Millions lack access to adequate justice, face illegal detention, other abuses — Experts from 65 countries gathered in Johannesburg from 24-26 June to discuss practical solutions for providing access to adequate legal services for disadvantaged sectors of the population. Many countries still lack the necessary resources and capacity to provide legal aid for suspects, those charged with a criminal offence, prisoners, victims and witnesses. Providing adequate legal aid is key in developing a more efficient legal system.

По данным УНП ООН за 2013 год, в Перу отмечено снижение выращивания коки — Согласно национальному мониторинговому исследованию коки за 2013 год, представленному в Лиме Управлением ООН по наркотикам и преступности и правительством Перу,  культивирование в Перу кустов коки, из которых производится кокаин, сократилось до 17,5%. Посевная площадь на конец 2013 года снизилась до 49800 га по сравнению с площадью предыдущего года, которая составляла 60400 га.

УНП ООН подготовило брошюру по борьбе с организованной преступностью и торговлей контрафактными товарами — Управление Организации Объединенных Наций по наркотикам и преступности ко Всемирному дню борьбы с контрафактной продукцией в целях повышения осведомленности покупателей об опасности приобретения контрафактных товаров подготовило брошюру, демонстрирующую связь контрафакции с организованной преступностью. Брошюра выпущена в поддержку кампании УНП ООН «Контрафакт: не приобретай продукцию преступников» и разработана специально с учетом нужд потребителей с целью сокращения спроса на контрафактные товары, тем самым уменьшая последствия незаконной торговли, которая обходится в 250 млрд долларов в год.
    16. UNODC highlights link between organized crime and wildlife crime at UN Environment Assembly — During the first United Nations Environment Assembly, concluded today in Nairobi, UNODC highlighted a clear link between wildlife crime and transnational organized crime, and set out how its Global Programme for Combating Wildlife and Forest Crime will play a key role in the fight against this scourge.
    17. Global drug use prevalence stable, says UNODC World Drug Report 2014 — Drug use prevalence is stable around the world, according to the 2014 World Drug Report of the United Nations Office on Drugs and Crime (UNODC), with around 243 million individuals, or 5 per cent of the world's population aged 15-64, having used an illicit drug in 2012. Problem drug users meanwhile numbered about 27 million, roughly 0.6 per cent of the world's adult population, or 1 in every 200 people.
    18. Security Council expresses support to UNODC on fight against drug trafficking — Following yesterday's debate in the Security Council Chamber on the situation in Afghanistan, the Council published a Presidential Statement stressing the need for continued action against illicit drug trafficking. "The Security Council recognizes the threat posed by the production, trade, trafficking of illicit drugs to international peace and stability in different regions of the world and the important role played by UNODC in this regard."
    19. UNODC Chief tells Security Council Afghan challenges “formidable,” emphasises need for long-term engagement — The Executive Director of UNODC, Yury Fedotov, told the Security Council today that possible declines in economic development, international aid and business confidence would most likely increase Afghanistan's reliance on the illicit economy. "Over the last decade, drug cultivation and production have been the most profitable illicit and criminal business activities in Afghanistan."
