Climate
Bogota is located at an altitude of 2,640 meters (8,661 feet) above sea level; due to its location, it is characterized by being dry and cold. The average temperature for June/July is 19°C (66°F) during the day and 9°C (48°F) at night.
Due to climate change, the city's temperatures vary constantly. Therefore, we recommend checking the weather a few days before your trip to be prepared.

Museums
National Museum
One of the most important museums in Colombia. It exhibits a wide collection of Colombian art and history, from pre-Columbian art to contemporary works. It also offers temporary exhibitions and cultural activities.
Gold Museum
It preserves Colombian cultural heritage, telling the country's identity. Archaeological collections of goldwork, ceramics, lithic, among others, are exhibited in six exhibition rooms.

Botero Museum
The renowned Colombian painter and sculptor Fernando Botero donated more than 200 works to the museum. This collection reflects how the artist from Antioquia viewed the country's reality and captured it through humor and irony, including some of his most emblematic works with his famous technique of volume and color.

Historical Center and Tourist Attractions
Bolivar Square
It is the historical and political heart of Bogotá. Its colonial architecture, statues and fountains make the square a tourist attraction and a symbol of the city's identity. It is named after the leader of Colombia's independence, Simon Bolivar, and houses important government buildings such as the Palace of Justice, the Primatial Cathedral of Colombia and the National Capitol.
Monserrate Hill
The hill is at 3,152 meters (10,341 feet) above sea level and offers a privileged view of Bogotá. The site gathers thousands of pilgrims who visit it with devotion to see the Fallen Lord, a work by Pedro de Lugo Albarracín, an important 17th-century sculptor.
There are two ways to visit the hill:
Funicular: Built by a Swiss company in 1926, the journey is accompanied by vegetation visible through the crystal roofs of the cars.
Cable Car: It travels 820 meters (2,690 feet) from the station to the top of the hill, where visitors enjoy a panoramic view of the city and the ascent to the hill.

Planetarium

Salt Cathedral
A 32-hectare natural reserve and the First Wonder of Colombia. It is in the Municipality of Zipaquirá, 29 kilometers from Bogotá. It is a unique architectural work, as the cathedral is built inside a salt mine, 185 meters underground.
How can I get to the Salt Cathedral from Zipaquirá?
- Private Car: Take the North Highway, pay the Andes toll and continue through the Chía - Zipaquirá road. Once you enter the municipality, reach the Villaveces Park where you will find the entrance to the Salt Cathedral.
- Train: Take the train at the Sabana Station located on Calle 13 with Carrera 18. During the journey, it will pass through Usaquén, La Caro, Cajicá and finally arrive at the train station in Zipaquirá.
- Public Transportation: Take a bus from the North Portal heading to Zipaquirá and get off at Carrera 15 with Calle 4 (Parque la Esperanza).

Guatavita Lagoon and Municipality
Located 57 kilometers north of Bogota, it is a 613-hectare natural reserve. The lagoon is not only famous for its beautiful landscape but also for the Legend of El Dorado. It is believed that the indigenous people performed rituals leaving gold offerings.
