The Pontifical Xavierian University participated in the assembly of CINDA’s Transformative Internationalization Network (RIT), where strategic priorities for 2026–2028 were defined, including international mobility, COIL programs, and academic cooperation. Through this participation, the university reaffirms its commitment to internationalization and expands key regional and global partnerships.
In the context of follow-up actions after the 2025 Assembly of the International Association of Jesuit Universities (IAJU), Director Giovanni Calvano carried out an institutional visit to the Université de Namur in Belgium to strengthen bilateral relations and expand opportunities for academic, research, and institutional cooperation. The meetings highlighted the positive outcomes of the Assembly and reaffirmed mutual interest in deepening collaboration. Key strategic areas were identified, including peace, democratic resilience, biodiversity, and coffee studies, along with the promotion of Erasmus+ programs and BIP intensive courses. The visit resulted in significant progress, such as the exploration of a joint doctoral supervision agreement and the development of an innovative double-degree program in microbiology, as well as funding opportunities through ARES. Additionally, the potential expansion of Erasmus+ mobility and inclusion in the Global Research Alliance of Jesuit Universities were discussed, reinforcing Namur’s role as a strategic European partner and strengthening Javeriana’s international leadership.
Pontificia Universidad Javeriana signed an academic cooperation and exchange agreement with IQS Barcelona, an institution affiliated with Universitat Ramon Llull, to strengthen internationalization and academic mobility. The agreement aims to promote joint teaching and research projects, encourage participation in international academic networks, and foster knowledge exchange, especially in scientific fields. It also seeks to provide interdisciplinary international experiences that support students’ comprehensive development and a global perspective on education.
Pontificia Universidad Javeriana welcomed representatives from Brazilian universities of SEMESP to exchange experiences in educational governance, student development, and institutional best practices. During visits to three universities in Bogotá, challenges and opportunities for international collaboration were explored, reaffirming the interest in joint initiatives to strengthen higher education and the comprehensive development of academic communities.
